【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoversthecomposition,dimensions,andphysicalpropertiesofmetal-meshcoveredmineralfiber(rock,slag,orglass)blanketandblanket-typepipeinsulation(typicallyon24in.(610mm)diametersorlarger)foruseoncooledsurfacesattemperaturesoperatingbelowambientto0x00B0;F(x2212;18x00B0;C)andonheatedsurfacesoperatingattemperaturesupto1200x00B0;F(649x00B0;C).Specificapplicationsoutsidetheactualusetemperaturesshallbeagreeduponbetweenthemanufacturerandpurchaser.1.2Forsatisfactoryperformance,properlyinstalledprotectivevaporretardersorbarriersshallbeusedonbelowambienttemperatureapplicationstoreducemovementofmoisture/watervaporthroughoraroundtheinsulationtowardsthecoldersurface.Failuretouseavaporretardercanleadtoinsulationandsystemdamage.RefertoPracticeC921toaidmaterialselection.Althoughvaporretarderpropertiesarenotpartofthisspecification,propertiesrequiredinSpecificationC1136arepertinenttoapplicationsorperformance.1.3Theorientationofthefiberswithintheblanketisprimarilyparalleltotheheatedsurface.Thisspecificationdoesnotcoverfabricatedpipeandtankwrapinsulationwheretheinsulationhasbeencutandfabricatedtoprovidefiberorientationthatisperpendiculartotheheatedsurface.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoprovidetheperformancerequirementsofhourly-ratedfiresystems.Consultthemanufacturerfortheappropriatesystem.1.5SeeSupplementaryRequirementsformodificationstosectionsinthisstandardonlywhenspecifiedbypurchaserinthecontractororderfromtheU.S.MilitaryspecificationsutilizedbytheU.S.DepartmentofDefense,DepartmentoftheNavy,andtheNavalSystemsCommand.1.6Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatoryrequirementspriortouse.
